Teacher Salaries
Two interesting items were on the local news
tonight: Iowa teacher's salaries rank 42nd in
the nation which means that our good teachers
can go to 41 other states and receive better
wages. This story was followed by a story on the
two Republican candidates for Governor of Iowa.
Both plan on cutting taxes if elected. If one
follows these two stories to the logical
conclusion it would appear that most of the
benefits Iowans enjoy now, including excellent
schools, will be jeapordized if either
Republican candidate becomes our governor. Lets
do everything we can to make sure a Democrat is
elected governor and Democrats are elected to
serve in both the Iowa senate and house of
representatives.
